Gammage 09/10 season group ticket order

The season for Gammage next year was just announced and I will be doing a group order.

Many of you have joined me in ordering tickets as a group to attend Gammage performances in the past. For those who are new, purchasing group tickets allow us to buy tickets before they go on sale to the general public (and get good/better seats). I will let you know when I've picked a date and a show (usually a Friday or Sat evening). We get a slight discount on ticket prices, depending on how many are in the group, what night we attend, and where you choose to sit ($21-$83 plus handling). I will need half the money at the time I order the tickets and the rest of the money about a month before the show.

Let me know ASAP if you are interested in doing a group for a show next season and what you are most interested in.

A mini run down of the shows coming up with my favorite picks:

September LEGALLY BLONDE - musical based on the movie of the same name. PG to PG-13 Since I saw the MTV broadcast of it, it would not be my first choice, However I love this show and would gladly go with a group..

October PHANTOM OF THE OPERA - sorry I'm not doing this one. Been there done that.

December LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, THE MUSICAL - I actually had no idea there was a musical of this. It was not on broadway but began at PaperMill Playhouse. So the musical is based on the books with Melissa Gilbert (who played Laura Ingles in the TV series) as Ma. Could be fun.

December/January ANNIE - I've seen this enough that I'm not including it for a group show.

January AUGUST:OSAGE COUNTY This won the Tony for best play. While it looks intriguing to me it is 3 1/2 hours long and contains adult content and language which counts it out as a group show.

February MARY POPPINS This Broadway musical has all the good songs from the movie as well as some new numbers and plot items. Obviously good for all ages, I predict this will sell out rather quickly and I would love to go. There is a ticket exception with this show. The tickets must be paid in full by the end of July or we lose them so I would collect half when I order and the other half in June.

March AVENUE Q We affectionatly call it Sexame Street. While there are some numbers that I love, the "adult content" (like a sex scene with full puppet nudity) and the heavy duty language make me question whether I will ever pay money to go see it. This is not a good "group" show.

**April Alfred Hitchcock's THE 39 STEPS. This would be my pick. I am dying to see this show!! It is a comic play based on the old Alfred Hitchcock movie that has a cast of 4 play over 150 characters. A fast paced, funny, amazing piece of work that is good for the whole family. The brochure says "Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have...(Mystery chords!) THE 39 STEPS" This is my top choice.

June IN THE HEIGHTS This show won the Tony for Best Musical last year about "chasing your dreams and finding your true home" in a latino/hispanic community. Plenty of awesome music and dance. I'd like to see it.

Let me know and feel free to pass the news to friends. The more that are in our group the better our discount.

  2. There were not enough people to make a group so far. I might try again in the fall and see if there are good seats left.
